Ardjan's Cochins

INTERNATIONAL COCHINDAY

Together with my friend Gerrit Bosch I organise an international Cochinday every second saturday in september. The idea was born, because many people wanted to have Cochins and Cochinbantams, but they were hard to get.To help more people to breedingstock we invited Cochinbreeders to participate with some birds on the show as well as on the sale. Birds can be entered in any colour and they will be judged by a team of international judges. The main prize to winn is a rosette we had specially made in England. One for the best Cochin and one for the best Cochinbantam.

We have contacts to breeders and clubs from ten different countries from all over Europe and in 2005 we had breeders and visitors from six countries. 2005 we had 94 Cochins and some 100 Cochinbantams on the show. Also there were about 100 birds on the sale. Most of them went to new breeders.

The main thing is to make new contacts and old friends meet again.

The happening takes place in the „Dorpshuis“ in the village of Zeddam near the german border in Holland. It it surely worth to pay a visit.
